Key Responsibilities
- Liaising with clients to determine their requirements, timescale and budget
- Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials
- Schedule projects and define budget constraints
- Developing concepts, graphics and layouts, including making decisions about fonts, images, readability and readers’ needs
- Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval
- Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
- Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as photoshop
- Keeping clients up to date, listening to and acting on feedback, and explaining the rationale behind graphic design decisions
- Liaising with external printers or production teams to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed or presented to the highest quality
- Amend designs after feedback
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline
- Three or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of WordPress and content management systems
- A strong eye for visual composition
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
